We are accepting applications for a Software Development Specialist 2 – Application Services  (Primary Technology: .NET, ASP.NET; Secondary Technology: Azure, SQL Server) within the Office of Information Technology, headquartered at Fountain Square in Franklin county. What you will do…

The Primary Technology for this position is: .NET, ASP.NET.


  • Develops web-based and standalone software applications

  • Participates in a project team for the development, review and evaluation of software solutions using Visual Studio.Net (VB.NET, ASP.NET Web Forms, Blazor Framework, C#), MS SQL Server 2016, .NET Core, ADO.NET, Web API, Rest services, Bootstrap, HTML5, OIDC, jQuery, Entity Framework, SharePoint, IIS, develop cloud ready solutions using .net framework

  • Independently writes new code and modifies existing computer programs which may involve writing large & complex code

  • Conducts code unit testing and assists in supporting user acceptance testing

  • Performs post production support for business applications which may include routine maintenance, enhancements and the need to perform research to aid in troubleshooting software production errors

Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

-Or 48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
