The Manufacturing Engineering Manager works at the Global Innovation and Development center in Hudson Wisconsin, an organization with over 150 individuals committed to the conceptualization, development and clinical manufacturing of combination products, diagnostic devices, and medical devices. You will be responsible for growing the size and technical capability of the Manufacturing Engineering team which is part of the Manufacturing Development group, working closely with other engineering managers including Mechanical Design, Human Centered Design, Electronics and Software, Project, Validation and Quality organizations. The focus of the manufacturing engineering group is the development of manual and semi-automated assembly processes of various medical devices and drug delivery systems through clinical builds. Final steps would be participation in design transfer activities to a commercial site.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Assess skills and work closely with your team members to create personnel development plans to help them continuously learn, self-actualize, and transform.

  • Work with your team members and the GID Management team to continuously find ways to empower employees to create more value for the organization and society

  • Assign engineering resources to support a variety of projects

  • Recognize and reward individuals based on their value contribution

  • Support communication between customer, sales, engineering functions, outside vendors, manufacturing and other Phillips-Medisize commercial sites

  • Be part of the team providing oversight to programs through the development process through the design transfer process

  • Develop skills & processes of the Manufacturing Engineering group in the areas of:


    • APQP process

    • Managing project timeline and budget

    • Standardize process used by team to develop various assembly methods and processes

    • Support our development of manual assembly lines but planning for higher volumes at another Phillips-Medisize commercial site

    • Support DFA(Assembly and Automation) for future commercial volumes working with selected automation service providers


    The Experience You Will Bring

    Requirements:


    • Experience leading teams and providing oversight of multiple projects

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical device assembly development OR sustaining activities

    • Experience in an ISO 13485 environment

    What Will Put You Ahead


    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field

    • Experience with initiating and driving continuous improvement efforts to improve systems, processes and methods used in the development of medical device assemblies

    • Experience with drug filling requirements, equipment and processes

    • Experience with assembly processes and methods used in the healthcare industry

    • Experience with technical process automation, manufacturing, quality and process development
