The Team

Alvarez & Marsal's Corporate Transformation Services (CTS) team is built on deep industry sector expertise with a demonstrably differentiated ability to address the most complex business problems and deliver dramatic and sustainable business performance improvements. Blending hands-on industry expertise and strategic thinking, our team of experts work to develop and implement operational performance improvement solutions. Working either in an advisory capacity or taking the reins in an interim C-Suite role, CTS comprises of a group of truly outstanding senior industry specialists providing corporate clients with innovative solutions for their toughest problems.

The Role

The opportunity exists for an operational performance improvement and lean manufacturing consultant at the Senior Associate level to join our Paris office, a highly successful team at a time of sustained growth. We are looking an experienced consultant who has a successful track record and a blend of operational and consulting skills, an entrepreneurial approach and networks across the European region. You will work with corporate and private equity clients at C-suite level to help deliver operational turnaround, business transformation and operational restructuring .

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, deliver and implement strategic transformation, operations performance improvement, turnaround management and Lean initiative s across complex businesses.

  • Drive quick initial short-term gains in order to release cash to invest in longer transformation targets, all the while demonstrating a 'Return On Investment' (ROI).

  • Drive rapid, significant and sustainable improvement in on-time delivery and lead-time within world-class manufacturing businesses.

  • Passionately drive continuous improvement culture while implementing the strategic roadmap to achieve breakthrough performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, growth and working capital.

  • Ensure key manufacturing metrics and KPI systems are consistently tracking the appropriate measures and driving appropriate response behaviours.

  • Ensure effective allocation of resources across all areas of the operation to accomplish customer-driven priorities.

  • Implement and optimise LEAN methodology across multi-region & multi-site production environments.

  • Determine and track expected productivity improvement and savings from BPI events, and ties savings to P&L and EBITDA improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience:


  • Graduated from a leading "Grande Ecoles" in Business and / or Engineering, or equivalent

  • Operational and/or implementation consulting with a blue chip professional advisory firm combined a proven track record in industry, ideally focused on Operational Restructuring including the optimisation of all aspects of a business, ideally gained within an organisation with a manufacturing facility of significant size, scale and complexity.

  • Track record of significant performance improvement and strong application knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and related CI tools (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma).

  • O perational performance improvement and cost out delivery experience in both stable and financially stressed organisations.

  • Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence through Lean principles.

  • Experience leading large cross-functional or multi-location projects and timelines in consulting and world-class manufacturers.

  • High degree of credibility, integrity and resourcefulness, combining strong manufacturing and technical abilities with overall management & leadership acumen.

  • Extensive hands on experience in continuous improvement manufacturing activities with established operations leadership experience in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing.

  • Track record of leading projects in w orkforce productivity, Lean systems, e nterprise wide cost reduction, p rocurement and sourcing, c ontract management and contract operating models, p rogramme recovery.
