Job Description:

Role Summary


The Application Support Analyst I works with the Business Analyst group, Business Unit Managers, and various committees to facilitate the successful design, development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support of various software systems and applications. This position is responsible for many day-to-day application support activities, but operates under the guidance and direction of the Application Support Manager with respect to system administration (changes, development, and maintenance).


Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions



  • Recommends and justifies application modifications that enable the organization to achieve its goals, based on an understanding of business issues and opportunities in the context of user requirements and software capabilities.

  • Researches and resolves complex operational issues.

  • Serves as contact for end users on all system related problems, questions, suggestions/enhancements, and troubleshooting requests.

  • Tests, debugs, and documents system modifications and upgrades thoroughly and accurately.

  • Consults with Business Analysts, while serving as the liaison between end users, vendors, and internal IT staff to identify problems, suggest changes, and clarify user specifications.

  • Analyzes and revises existing internal system documentation.

  • May assist in training.

  • Responsible for end user and vendor communication.

  • Determines feasibility of internal enhancement requests against software documentation and vendor assistance.

Your Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer information systems required, with a focus on system analysis and/or project management.

  • 2+ years of experience in basic systems administration and user management required.

  • Familiarity with quality assurance/quality control, system testing methodologies, and business documentation concepts is required.

  • Core software application proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint is required.

  • Knowledge of bank programs, and familiarity with federal and state banking regulations.

  • Ability to think analytically and conceptually.

  • Possess exceptional self-review skills.

  • Superior organization skills, written/verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and time management skills.

  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess an intellectual curiosity for learning new systems.

  • Can successfully apply research methods into system issues and software capabilities.

  • Adapts to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

  • Effectively manages competing demands.
