Job Summary

The Application Support Analyst II works with the Business Analyst group, Business Unit Managers, and various committees to facilitate the successful design, development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support of various software systems and applications.  The incumbent is responsible for regulatory compliance as well as many day-to-day application support activities.  This position operates under the guidance and direction of the Application Support Manager with respect to system administration (changes, development, and maintenance).

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions


  • Manages several simultaneous cross-functional projects, as requested by management that champion the correct utilization of bank systems, and ensures major players are aware of and following through with responsibilities as they relate to projects.

  • Recommends and justifies application modifications that enable the organization to achieve its goals, based on an understanding of business issues and opportunities in the context of user requirements and software capabilities and applies this knowledge to automate processes or to improve existing system flow. 

  • Determines feasibility of internal enhancement requests against software documentation and vendor assistance.

  • Properly documents system changes as required by applicable laws and regulations.  

  • Communicates updates/enhancements and works directly with internal customers and software vendors to resolve system issues or submit enhancement requests.

  • Coordinates quality assurance testing of new releases prior to implementation to production system. 

  • Serves as contact for management on all system related problems, questions, suggestions/enhancements, and troubleshooting requests. 

  • Serves as the liaison between end users, vendors, and internal IT staff to identify problems, suggest changes, and clarify user specifications.

  • Analyzes and revises existing internal system documentation.

  • May assist in training.

Job Requirements

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer information systems required, with a focus on system analysis and/or project management.

Required:


  • 4+ years of experience in systems analysis and problem resolution in a business environment.

  • Familiarity with quality assurance/quality control, system testing methodologies, project management, and business documentation concepts.

  • Knowledge of bank programs, and familiarity with federal and state banking regulations.

  • Ability to think analytically and conceptually.

  • Possess exceptional self-review skills.

  • Superior organization skills, written/verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and time management skills.

  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess an intellectual curiosity for learning new systems.

  • Can successfully apply research methods into system issues and software capabilities. 

  • Adapts to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

  • Effectively manages competing demands.

  • Understands the impact of regulatory changes on systems and processes.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred:


  • 2+ years of experience in a project management role.

  • Prior banking experience.
