Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing technical support for Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket customers, employees, and marketing groups.  Products include: axles, brakes, driveline, transmission, clutch, power steering, MeritorWabco product lines, and related components. This individual will be an advocate for the customers while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Develop a working knowledge of products.  Awareness of product improvements and engineering change notices through daily updates and implementing any required action.

•    Become proficient in Primary and Secondary product responsibilities.

•    Interface with CVS Engineering, CVS Manufacturing, CVA Florence Quality Assurance, Cataloging, various Aftermarket personnel and CVA Marketing.  Coordinate engineering manufacturing changes and ensure customer satisfaction.

•    Work with CVA Inventory and Procurement assisting with identifying CVS manufacturing responsibility.

•    Maintain CVA database supporting CVS part number adds, item master request, supersessions, and service bill of materials.

•    Maintain CVA database supporting CVA aftermarket/allmakes part numbers adds, item master request, supersessions, and service bill of materials.

•    Interface with CVA Engineer to initiate and / or support CVA initiatives to maintain high level of customer satisfaction.

•    Update CVA with available technical data concerning product changes, developments, and potential field issues across all product lines in a timely fashion.


Dimensions:

•    Meritor active part numbers:  for multiple brands: Product offering will continue to expand

•    Average calls / day:  50 to 60 in a call center environment


  • Knowledge of engineering principles from a design and specification standpoint as pertaining to AO products; mechanical orientation; effective written and oral communications skills; experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings; ability to work independently and as a team member, and demonstrated creativity in problem solving techniques

  • Degree in Engineering with (2) or more years product / parts system / technical support experience or high school diploma with (4) or more years product / parts system / technical support experience.

  • Working knowledge of CVS part number nomenclature is required

  • Proficiency in Sales Force / Service Cloud systems knowledge is preferred

  • Senior level must possess ability to read blueprints and have a minimum of 2 years as Specification Analyst.

  • Must also possess a grasp of primary and secondary product lines for which they are responsible and have completed applicable / available training programs, i.e., clutch reman, MeritorWabco, or drive axle.

  • The CVA organization has the right to deem a person qualified for a position if that person has had one or more years’ experience in the position or similar position.  Associate degree or high school diploma with (2) or more years’ experience in a similar role.
