Job Summary
The QE Analyst Resource will be part of QE group, working with Data Services, Health Care Quality and Affordability (HCQA) as well as Automation teams. Quality Engineering, Senior - Designs and implements test strategy, test plan, test scenarios and test scripts using industry accepted methodologies and procedures to test the data across Blue Shield's data layers. Detects and logs errors into defect tracking tool, recreating them as needed. Works with developers to identify root cause and track errors through to resolution (including validation with customers) and escalates issues when appropriate. Works closely with Quality Engineers, developers and business teams to correctly interpret business requirements and technical documentation. Participates in review of requirements documents, system concept documents and functional and technical design documents to appropriately plan, design and execute on quality assurance activities. Develops and implements quality assurance standards, processes and procedures based on the SLDC. Works well withing Agile methodology. Works with the development team and project managers on resource and schedule issues. Evaluates production readiness of project delivery by validating and documenting the completion of testing and development. Provides comprehensive reporting of testing progress and defects to provide visibility to project team.

Prepare Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Data, Test Cases, Test Scripts based on BRD, TDD, STTM
Review test artifacts with business users and technical team
Maintain test cases in HP ALM and track defects in JIRA
Conduct daily defect calls with IT PM, Development team and Business team
Provide test reports/status to Test Lead, IT PM and discuss roadblocks if necessary
Perform root-cause analysis for the defects/issues and provide solution if required
Follow best practices and maintain quality assurance standards
Ability to execute test scripts with Automation Framework
Ability to work in Agile environment
Execute and maintain test scripts in the automation framework for regression and smoke testing of various BSC applications
Ability at applying advanced professional principles and concepts to complex work assignments
Participate and present in automation code reviews
Assesses suitability of manual test cases for automation
Experience in developing Data Driven and Modular Frame works.
Hands on experience in using Informatica power center 9.1 or 9.6
Analyzing and writing testing cases based on ETL specifications/ Source-to-Target Mapping documents
Experience in executing the Informatica Worklets and Workflows.
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
5 - 8 years of QE experience with 4-5 years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence projects
Knowledge of ETL processes, Relational Database Design Methods (Snowflake/Star Schema), Slowly Changing Dimensions etc.
Strong SQL skills to validate data from multiple sources like Files, XMLs, Databases
Ability to analyze error logs in UNIX, update shell scripts, and create SQL scripts
Ability to perform automated regression testing in all Non-production environments
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Healthcare domain experience is preferable but not required
At least should have worked on one large data warehouse project/initiative
Experience in testing workflow applications
Solid working knowledge of shell scripts and SQL scripts
Understanding of build/release management for enterprise testing
Technical aptitude to understand and articulate complex architectures
Experience with coding in python or any other object oriented programming language is preferred
