ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Conducts a systematic review of commercial, installment, and mortgage loans todetermine the adequacy of documentation.

  • Uses credit and financial information to verify continuing credit worthiness of the customer.

  • Possible high level review of collateral documentation, if necessary.

  • Evaluates the adequacy of loan risk codes and accrual status. Recommends changes as appropriate.

  • Serves as a Team Leader for portfolio reviews: Assigns, reviews and assists lessexperienced Loan Reviewers with loan reviews to ensure adherence to deadlines.

  • Trains subordinates to assure consistency in the accuracy and quality of reports generated.

  • Develops trend information as it pertains to the group under review and provides Team Leader/management with related reports.

  • Proficiently extracts and reviews samples of various segments of the portfolio and analyzes results to reach conclusions regarding asset quality of the portfolio as a whole and/or various aspects thereof.

  • Assembles raw loan portfolio data from diverse sources into meaningful reporting information for use in quantifying and assessing asset quality of the portfolio as a whole and various segments and/or aspects of the portfolio.

  • Informs supervisor of discrepancies in the perceived risk ratings as compared to the current risk rating assigned to the loan/relationship.

  • Prepares and distributes formal reports derived from the review and analysis of information obtained presenting both quantitative and qualitative evaluations of the asset quality of the overall portfolio and various segments and or aspects of the portfolio and offering recommendations to effect improvement.

  • Assists the Loan Review Manager in gathering information, preparing reports, completing special projects, etc..

  • Serve as a member of the Due Diligence team for future acquisitions, if called upon.

  • All other duties/special projects as assigned.

  • Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and leads employees in the Loan Review Department; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; Responsibilities include developing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and conflict resolution.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • A College Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting is preferred.

  • Formal credit training is preferred.

  • Three years of banking experience in loan recovery, credit analysis, credit review and/ or lending.

MINIMUM REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:


  • Excellent financial analytical skills

  • Working knowledge of banking laws and regulations as they apply to lending

  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct a review team
