Position Scope:

The Final Inspector is responsible for in-process inspection of product after completion of processes. This position requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to read and understand technical requirements of the traveler and blueprint. Some jobs get a secondary inspection due to the surface finish application after the initial inspection.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Read, understand, and interpret travelers and drawings provided to assess requirements and special instructions required for jobs.

  • Have basic understanding of IPC and military requirements. Must know where to go to obtain customer specific specifications.

  • Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications and for conformity to specified standards.

  • Inspects product under magnifying tool for opens, shorts, contamination, soldermask/legend issues etc...

  • Compares size and location of holes to verify conformance to specifications when assisting for first article measurements.

  • Views inside of holes to detect voids or irregular surfaces.

  • Identifies non-conforming product and dispositions accordingly.

  • Notify appropriate personnel when generating rework paperwork to request rework instructions and approval.

  • Perform any rework operations (soldermask touch-up, remove burrs/rough spots, rework damaged areas, cover exposed copper areas with soldermask, clean and/or polish surface mount pads) that can be done inside the final inspection department.

  • Stamps mark of approval or rejection, or initials, on product or traveler.

  • Logs job in and out of ERP system with accurate counts of product.

  • Records yield data and complete scrap report forms.

  • Stacks finished boards with separator sheets for transfer to next work station.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:


  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Ability to read and understand technical requirements of the traveler and blueprint

  • Ability to visually verify fine detail work

  • Lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Ability to work in a face pace environment and have strong attention to details and able to switch between different circuit board programs.

  • Must be able to handle interruptions to work flow as necessary to accommodate engineering requests.

Education and Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred. Experience within the aerospace industry or AS9100 is a plus. Strong computer skills and technical aptitude. Previous experience reading and interpreting GD&T requirements on manufacturing drawings helpful. PCB/CCA experience preferred, but not required. Previous quality inspection experience or electronic assembly background helpful.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC. b) Reinforce to all employees the commitment of TTM management to abide by all US Export laws and regulations. c) Understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL). d) Support Export Compliance Officers and others in their efforts to ensure compliance with the Corporate Export policies through implementation and enforcement of these procedures, provide training to all facilities and departments and support periodic audits as required. e) Provide feedback to Corporate Export Compliance Office for continuous improvement of procedures and overall Export Compliance program.
