Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position leads a corporate accounting team, with primary responsibilities for key significant accounting accruals and estimates, and related accounting policies and processes. This position will also support the External Reporting and Technical Accounting team in providing oversight of company-wide accounting policies, the interpretation and application of US GAAP as it relates to certain activities, and, if applicable, the implementation of new accounting standards.

Job Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Manage the migration of decentralized accounting activities to the RTP location


• Oversee the preparation and review of critical accounting accruals and estimates. Own related controlsandpoliciesand coordinate as needed with ourauditors.


• Streamline and simplify existing accounting processes and procedures


• Support Controllership compliance activities


• Lead or participate in special projects as needed


• Support the External Reporting & Technical Accounting team with the following activities as needed:
  
  
  
  • Preparation ofearnings releases, 10-Qs and 10-Ks
  
  
  • Providing accounting guidance to finance teams, and writing technical memos,to ensure material transactions are properly recorded
  
  
  • Monitoring emerging accounting standards and assisting with their implementation
  
  
  • Managing the creation, review and application of company-wide accounting policies and procedures
  
  
  
  

Required Skills:

• Ability to effectively motivate, manage and develop a team of one to two accounting professionals


• Strong time-management and organizational skills; effective prioritization of deadline-driven activities


• Ability to effectively research, interpret and clearly communicate GAAP rules to individuals across the company


• Excellent writing skills


• Strong collaboration skills; ability to successfully partner with Legal, Investor Relations, FP&A, Field Finance and others on cross-functional initiatives

Education and Preferred Experience

• 6+ years in Accounting / Finance roles, with at least 3years of Big 4 Experience


• Experience either working for a public company or working on public company engagements


• Experience with High-Tech Industry helpful


• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance


• CPA required
