Director, Sales and Use Tax

A&M's Taxand team in Houston is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Director with strong analytical, organizational and technical skills. Taxand is a subsidiary of A&M, an established global advisory services firm with over 4,500 employees. Our Sales and Use Tax team advises clients on sales and use tax matters, including reverse audits, audit management controversy, event-based tax planning, and tax department process improvement projects.

What will you be doing?

As a Sales and Use Tax Director, you will prepare and review detailed technical research memorandums for internal sources and clients. You will provide support for reverse audits, controversy, tax planning, voluntary disclosure agreements, tax department process improvement projects and sales/use tax exposure analysis. You will develop recommendations based on audit results to minimize exposure. You will build relationships with client personnel as well as mentor and train staff. In addition to project work, you will also work towards achieving business development / marketing goals.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required

- A Graduate degree in taxation or accounting or a law degree is preferred

- 7+ years of Sales and Use Tax experience is required

- Sales tax consulting experience is preferred

- Accreditation as a CPA or CMI is preferred

- Exhibit a durable sense of personal motivation and integrity
