The Brands Project Manager provides overall task management of all UNFI Brands projects throughout item lifecycle. A key collaborator with cross-functional business partners incorporating and driving project objectives and timing milestones.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee project management of all food and non-food products across UNFI Brands portfolio to include reporting and management of all potential new items submitted to Ideation, monitor status of all approved projects moving to Feasibility, and initiate/track all new item and maintenance projects.
Partner with UNFI Product Business Managers, Innovation, Brand Marketing, Packaging, and Product Development to enable development of new products and improvement of existing items.
Manages interdependencies and connections between functions and ensures visibility and alignment so that project deliverables are achieved
Develop timelines (Gantt charts) for the tracking of deliverables and task interdependencies
Manage all TraceONE Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) specification project initiations and establish electronic task workflows.
Create and execute maintenance updates to PLM work processes and specification templates.
Build and maintain Project Initiation Forms (PIF) for each project.
Support continuous supplier communication, directing completion of PIF and specification tasks.
Lead weekly internal cross-functional status meetings to determine task status and alignment.
Prompt key project stakeholders to documentation gaps and/or timing opportunities.
Identify and escalate project risks to cross-functional team and leadership (as needed).
Support brand and product regulatory compliance by managing specialized project trackers and cadenced reporting.
Manage high volume of projects for nation’s largest grocery wholesaler
Contribute to the evolution of Project Management best practices
Performs other relevant job duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications: (Required/Preferred-list requirement is required or preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field preferred
Experience:
2+ years of project management or related business field required
Experience in CPG, Private Label or distributor project management preferred
Knowledge:
General knowledge of project management including systems
Skills/ Abilities:
Ability to apply basic project management principles including, but not limited to, identifying critical paths, building, and communicating timelines, defining milestones and methods for setting expectations and accountability.
Motivated and acts with a sense of urgency
Adaptable to shifting priorities and innovative with solutions
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills with strong attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with PM management workspace collaboration tool
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
Some travel may be required
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
