SUMMARY


We are excited to add an entry level Buyer and Logistics Coordinator to our team in our Des Moines, Iowa Office. CCC (Compressor Controls Corporation) was founded in 1974 as the inventor of the world’s first digital Antisurge control system. Today there are more than 10,000 turbomachinery trains worldwide powered by CCC control solutions – helping customers achieve reliable and efficient plant operation every day.


The Buyer and Logistics Coordinator will be an important member of our global supply chain team and will be responsible two main areas: Logistics and Buying. For Logistics the person in this role will coordinate outbound transportation and export compliance under limited guidance. For buying, we are looking for someone that will coordinate the material and services required for customers by managing the Supply Base for delivery, quality, and cost and understanding the internal requirements for demand.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Listed in order of relevance:


Logistics:



  • Coordinate all outbound export shipments with freight carriers, customers and internal functional groups. Provide all necessary documentation for shipments and customs clearance.  Review project-specific shipping and/or carton/crate specifications. Comply with and/or negotiate with customer. (30)

  • Determine acceptable export compliance on international shipments by completing export compliance checklist and destination screen. (5)

  • Track customers’ purchase orders and contracts for freight payment terms and billing specifics. Ensure all billings are conducted in accordance with the terms. (10)

  • Coordinate the tracking of all shipments with internal and external customers (domestic and international) ensuring timely communication and follow-up as required. (10)

Buying:



  • Purchase materials, components, and services as required based on approved requisitions, replenishment schemes, MRP, or Scheduling inputs. (25)

  • Order replenishment based on stocking requirements for core products. (5)

  • Performs Purchase Order (PO) maintenance associated with ordering, expediting, distribution, approvals and record keeping. Ensures purchasing records are current and up to date in accordance with company policy and ISO documented standards. (10)

  • Process Return Material Authorizations (RMA) from suppliers as deemed necessary. Work closely with the Quality group to ensure supplier provides failure analysis, root cause determination and corrective action. (5)

  • Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

 


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related degree,

  • Internship or other experience in supply chain, logistics, or purchasing fields preferred

 


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS


Process oriented approach to problem solving including understanding the problem before jumping to solutions


Willingness and ability to learn new skills and ideas


Experience with ERP systems preferred (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP)


Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers


Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite


Ability to make appropriate decisions and work with limited supervision


Ability to read, speak, and write in English required
