Partnering with Detroit, MTU, Allison and Isuzu Diesel, United Engines is a one-stop depot for genuine manufactured engine parts and services. All of United Engine’s technicians are factory-trained and certified.

Administrative Assistant - Service Department

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification.


  • Answer telephones and transfer to appropriate staff member.

  • Meet and greet clients and visitors.

  • Create and modify documents using designated computer software.

  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.

  • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.

  • Sign for and distribute UPS/Fed Ex/Airborne packages.

  • Research, price, and purchase supplies.

  • Coordinate and maintain records for staff office space, phones, parking, company credit cards and office keys.

  • Setup and coordinate meetings and conferences.

  • Maintain and distribute staff weekly schedules.

  • Collect and maintain PC inventory.

  • Support staff in assigned project based work.


  • Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience working with customers, vendors and all levels of an organization is preferred.

  • Ability to utilize desktop computer systems, hardware and operating systems (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook, Internet Navigation, 10-key touch, Minimum 40 WPM).

  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

  • Work in air conditioned office, outside and workshop.

  • Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on one shift.

  • Requires occasional bending, stooping, lifting and carrying.

  • Reaching or handling with arms, hands and fingers.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers (i.e. frequent typing)

  • Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
