Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler in Shipping locates, process, stages, and loads finished units to be shipped out to customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain units to be moved
Operates powered industrial truck to move finished units
Load units onto truck trailer using powered industrial truck
Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies Supervisor for repair
Ensure that duties are accurately completed in a timely manner
Ensure the quality of the parts and /or material
Ensure that orders are accurate and shipped in a timely manner
Label all shipments with proper identification of purpose
Maximize use of available resources including RF and ADC equipment
Report all non-conforming activities and product to management
Practice good housekeeping at all times

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 1-3 years of warehouse experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with familiarity of AS400 software.
Certificates & Licenses: Must be certified in Company's Powered Vehicle Operators certification program.
Other Requirements: Knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S is preferred.
