Job Description: The role of the Control Manager has a broad focus on the effective management of the business risk environment. This specific Control Manager role aligns to the Tax Division within the Receivables Operations organization. Responsibilities will include partnering with operational areas on the development and maintenance of process and control flows, monitoring metrics for increased risk, risk and control assessments, control testing and tracking of action plan completion. A component of the role includes development of recommendations to strengthen internal controls and to improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Perform risk assessments, internal risk reviews and control testing to identify control gaps/issues in the operations, recommend and assist in implementing action plans to close the noted gaps/issues, and track action plans to completion.
• Help maintain Risk Assessment Structure (RAS) in the Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) tool. In addition to assisting with maintenance functions, ensure entry, update, and closure of action plans and risk acceptances are timely.
• Oversee Ops-owned control testing to ensure Receivables Ops sites adhere to client requirements, internal and corporate policies, SOPs, standards, etc. Challenge conclusions to ensure management properly assesses the effectiveness of their controls.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, Compliance, etc. during on-site audits/reviews.
• Actively participate in planning for potential contingency events, testing business continuity plans, and throughout actual events.
• Analyze and report data breaches as applicable; perform research/investigation to identify root cause; recommend appropriate remediating actions as needed.
• Lead/Participate in various Receivables projects/initiatives to ensure risk issues are considered, control weaknesses are identified and resolved, and compliance with applicable requirements, policies and SOPs
• Lead/Participate in various WPO Control projects/initiatives/workstreams covering varying risk/control topics requiring data analytics, process implementation, risk management, etc.
• Address ad-hoc inquiries/concerns received from Receivables Ops partners by a ssessing the applicable activity, performing the proper research and investigation, working with business partners, etc.
• Other tasks as assigned
