Job Description:

Are you interested in understanding human conversations and how to mimic that across various machine learning platforms? If so, then this might be the right opportunity for you. We are searching for a detail-oriented, analytical driven linguist to join our team. You will be part of the Digital Product Team that utilizes machine learning approach to improve our customers experience across Chase.com/Chase Mobile App, by utilizing virtual assistant and natural language search products. We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to assess and identify opportunities to improve features and customer experience of our products. The role requires constant interactions across product development, and technology. Strong communication, curiosity to learn new skills, and collaboration are a must in tandem with a deep desire to deliver significant value to the organization.

The overall responsibilities will include analyzing texts, data, and NLU model performance.


  • Completing accurate transcriptions via annotation process with the intent to evaluate and train our NLU / Dialogue Manager
  • Analyzing text and translating complex information to improve customer experience and product design
  • Identifying and making sense of language patterns from users
  • Working with Technologists and Data Scientists to improve performance of model
  • Keeping abreast of computational linguistics trends and implications to our products

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in linguistics, or a related discipline
  • 3 plus years e xperience with text mining and natural language processing and understanding of machine learning, is a plus
  • A passion for language and lifelong learning
  • Natural curiosity with strong work ethics, asking the next question and seeking to understand at the nuanced level to spark a new idea and ability to influence and execute on the initiative
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and active listening skills
  • Proficiency in business applications, data usage and management
  • Ability to liaison between lines of business and the development team, while working with a wide range of stakeholders and collaborating with your team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
