Poultry Sales Consultant

Join our National Poultry Sales Team! This position is much more than a job- it will allow you to establish a career that allows for personal and professional growth. In this role, you will focus on field production support and sales to the Laying hen industry with a focus on our accounts in the upper Midwest (Iowa, MN, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan) You will be responsible for developing sales and support programs working with Purina technical and research staff to provide solutions for poultry producers/integrators to improve production capabilities and profits through sales of feed components & nutrition programs.

This position is remote (virtual) and can work from home but must be located within the upper Midwest which is Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan

Additional responsibilities include:

• Increase sales volume and market share by selling Purina poultry nutrition, components, and micros to assigned, large end-user accounts as applicable. The key focus area is assigned top Laying hen accounts.
  
  


• Provide production information and input and training to accounts by working with the Technical Sales Support Team and extended relationship pool to implement formulas, new products, production management and sales information to support key assigned accounts.
  
  


• Develop and implement a sales growth plan that aligns with expectations and goals of the National Poultry Team and your area of focus and customer base.
  
  


• Responsible for developing monthly industry reports in addition to providing input from the field to Technical and Research staff to continue the development of Purina Nutrition and additive programs to provide cutting edge and applicable solutions.
  
  

Experience/Education:

• B.S. Degree in related field; Masters degree a plus; candidates without a degree and related experience may be considered.
  
  


• Experience working with large end user poultry accounts or allied companies
  
  


• Priority given to candidates with previous nutrition/consulting experience with large poultry producers
  
  


• Ability to understand good business and make sound economic recommendations; have strong technical/ functional skills
  
  


• Able to work in a poultry-related environment
  
  


• Requires daily travel within the upper Midwest- with up to 50% overnight travel
