POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager manages a property’s facility and grounds maintenance program through planning, supervision of staff, adherence to established standards, and preparation of related reports. This position helps ensure maximum production, safety, quality, and consistency while protecting the company’s assets and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for guests and employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Maintenance Manager
Initiates, implements, and manages the maintenance program based on best practices in the resort industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive maintenance.
Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
Ensures that maintenance staff are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to perform assigned work in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner.
Communicates regularly and effectively with all staff to ensure clarity regarding expectations and a positive work environment.
Assists with hiring of maintenance staff, rewards and disciplines as appropriate, and conducts performance reviews.
Maintains and updates operating and training manuals.
OTHER FUNCTIONS The Maintenance Manager may also:
Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by Resort Management.
Education/Credentials
This position requires a high school diploma or GED.
EPA Certification
CPO Certification (or willing to obtain)
Experience
This position requires 5 years of building maintenance experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
A minimum 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Maintenance Manager works both outside in different weather conditions, and will also require work inside in an office environment. Work will require flexibility and ability to constantly move focus from one task to the next. Hours may include some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
