Maintenance Manager, 1st Shift at TCDC Inc Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description:















 Position Summary



Manages the planning, direction and coordination of the maintenance department and coordinates maintenance functions using both inside personnel and outside contractors to accomplish maintenance projects. Ensures production equipment is well maintained and in working order. Provides hands on assistance and direct supervision to maintenance mechanics, installers and repair technicians, as well as, provides indirect leadership to other functions/departments as needed or required.



Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks

 




  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.

  • Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.



  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.

  • Works toward Corporate goal of on time delivery and productivity and helps promote responsibilities to the department employees.


·         Promotes continuous improvement through lean practices and RIE events. 

·         Embraces customer satisfaction related to on time delivery and quality.


  • Requisitions necessary materials, supplies and equipment for maintenance department.

  • Maintains a budget within operating parameters.

  • Investigate accidents, injuries and prepare Supervisor Accident Investigation and Near Miss reports as required.

  • Recommend personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.

  • Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.

  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.

  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.


·         Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
