Overview

We invite you to leverage your advanced geospatial technology experience as well as your coaching and team-building skills to lead Esri's technical enablement practice focused on our partners and strategic alliances. As the manager of this practice, you will be a senior leader responsible for a team of solution engineers who with you work closely with prospective and established partner companies towards the shared goal of success and growth of the Esri's partner channel. In addition, you play a key role internally, working closely with business development, product development, and partner management staff to create and drive partner initiatives through the organization. You must be a compelling presenter, educator, and product and licensing expert who can effectively communicate the value and function of Esri's technologies that are important for partners, based on deep technical expertise and first-hand experience working in similar roles. In this position you will have the opportunity to grow your technical expertise working with some of the most advanced companies in the world, while building the technical enablement program for partners and inspiring and motivating your team to excel.

Responsibilities


    Be an expert. Develop and execute an annual technical enablement plan to support the goals of the partners and alliances program. Assist in the planning and execution of the technology sessions at Esri events such as Esri Partner Conference and DevSummit, and support partner events as a senior Esri leader.

  • Empower your team. Build and develop a team of talented and motivated solution engineers that are highly effective in supporting a range of partner technology needs. Develop processes by which solution engineers can be recruited, objectively assessed, and mentored for continuous professional development.


  • Deliver results. Engage directly with strategic partners and alliances to provide technical advice and guidance related to the development of solutions that deliver business value and drive adoption of Esri technology. Influence the evolution of ArcGIS technologies, features, and tools that benefit partner adoption by collaborating directly with product management teams.


  • Build relationships. Work with the Professional Services team to build and develop offerings and influence partner adoption and use. Work closely with the partners and alliances team to recruit new partners and empower their success by developing architectures, prototypes and demonstrations that highlight the power of ArcGIS as part of partner offerings. Work collaboratively with partner managers and technical advisors on executing partner strategies and annual reviews.


  • Lead by example. Support routine communication (e.g., Esri Community, Chatter, webinars, workshops) to business partners that provide specific guidance and information on products, usage patterns, and architecture best-practices. Act as a liaison between partners and alliances and Support Services to make certain that key technical issues impacting partner offerings are appropriately escalated. Support and continually develop the partner specialty program in conjunction with partner operations and other product and industry stakeholders.

Requirements


  • 8+ years of GIS technology experience, particularly ArcGIS, in a solution engineer, architect, or developer role

  • 5+ years of experience leading, motivating, and coaching a team

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in cloud platforms and the deployment of spatial technology in enterprise, SaaS, and PaaS environments

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Esri's developer ecosystem including the ArcGIS API for JavaScrip

  • Basic knowledge of ArcGIS licensing and business models.

  • Expert in listening to clients, assessing needs, creating solutions, presenting, and visual storytelling across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to travel domestically 25-50% of the time

  • Bachelor's or master's in geography, GIS, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Recommended Qualifications

  • Industry experience in government, utilities, natural resources, AEC, or other commercial industry
