I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

Agile Project Manager in this role fulfills two distinct elements. First, they act as the guardian of the team, making sure that everyone on the team, can focus on their work without any distractions as well as removing any impediments.

The second element of Agile Project Manager role is to guard the process itself. The Agile Project Manager is the expert in the particular agile practice and how it should be effectively used applying agile mind set. He or she will ensure that the product owner and development team stay within the Agile framework. By extension, the Agile Project Manager can coach the other team members on how to use particular agile practice in the most effective manner.

II. Essential Job Functions

20%Understands and effectively applies Meredith's Scrum practice. Ensures Scrum teams understand the practice and follow it. Makes recommendations for future process improvements when appropriate.

20% Collaborates with the appropriate product owners, engineering leads and stakeholders to plan and prioritize value streams. Facilitates scrum events with the teams in order to plan, project and continuously deliver business value.

10% Monitors health of development cycles, and future plans/projections while maintaining consistent communication and approval processes with project team and stakeholders.

5% Regularly documents and communicates status, risks/issues and relevant metrics as appropriate for the respective audience.

10% Responsible to manage day-to-day operational aspects, including scheduling and running ceremonies for up to two teams.

10% Facilitates communication and forward progress within the scrum team including breakout sessions, decision making, removing blockers and maintaining focus

10% Collaborates with team and leadership to create mitigation plans when planned work are at risk.

5% Coordinates release process, documenting release notes and communicating to the necessary stakeholders

10% Provide leadership and mentoring for junior team members, leading to their growth and success

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or related field. Scrum Master certification a plus.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 4 years of agile project management experience, preferably in web development.

  • Experience using online tools including gantt charts, ticketing systems (Jira), wikis (Confluence)

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of software development processes

  • Excellent understanding of agile principles and experience putting them into practice.

  • Ability to identify and make suggestions for process improvements


  • Experienced self-starter who can support multiple teams in tandem with minimal supervision, including large, complex value streams that involve multiple teams across the organization

  • Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and foster alignment.

  • Ability to understand how project issues can impact the big picture from a business perspective.

  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership

  • Desire and ability to support and mentor other team members, displaying leadership and professionalism
