ASME A17.1 Mechanical Design Engineer at Cognizant in Jersey City, New Jersey

Job Description:

The candidate will design Elevator components following the ASME A17.1 Elevator Codes. This person will also manage projects following PCP (Product Creation Process). The candidate will coordinate with R&D Engineers from various locations to execute project tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Design elevator components following ASME A17.1 Elevator codes.

Create Design Specification Documents.

Perform DFMEA on critical components.

Create Product Validation Plans along with the testing team.

Create 2D drawings and Bill of Materials.

Create Ordering Information  Installation Instructions and Maintenance documents.

Provide quick resolutions to field issues.

Coordinate with various R&D groups to execute tasks.

Coordinate with industrialization team to ensure manufacturability of components.

Work with quality team and perform Risk Assessment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with minimum 15 years of relevent experience.
