Summary of Role:

Manage the Association’s cross-team efforts to enhance assurance quality. Conduct research to identify challenges in practice and develop tools, learning, and communications to support quality improvement.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:


  • Manage initiatives to enhance private company assurance quality. Keep stakeholders adequately apprised of progress and drive successful completion of projects on a timely basis.  (15%)

  • Develop training, tools and resources in conjunction with assurance quality initiatives. Collaborate with Learning team to identify opportunities to enhance AICPA offerings. (35%)

  • Oversee internal and external communication efforts relative to assurance quality initiatives. Develop articles, blogs and other communications. (30%)

  • Manage meeting agendas and related communication and coordination for volunteer member groups and projects. (10%)

  • Represent and speak on behalf of the Association as needed. (10%)

  • None

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:


  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to think strategically, recognizing relationships between different initiatives and the opportunities or conflicts they might create

  • Capable of dealing effectively and efficiently with and build consensus between diverse groups and individuals, including volunteers and representatives of other Association teams.

  • Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently

  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with an eye for detail

  • Creative thinker with solution-oriented approach

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field

  • CPA designation

  • 5-7 years related experience
