Purina Part Time Associate Research Technician-Beef Cattle

Work in all areas of the beef unit. Duties included but not limited to: feeding cattle by hand or with tractor/mixer, using computers to capture feed data, weighing cattle, basic animal husbandry care, cleaning cattle facilities, grounds keeping (weed eating, painting fence, mowing grass, spraying weeds), making and reporting observations on intakes and cattle health. Operate tractors, utv's and forklifts.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly. Will work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, beautiful days, and not so beautiful days). A good attitude and a team player a must. This position will work every third to every other weekend on a rotation. At busy times, maybe a few weekends in a row. Would like someone with flexibility to work 1, 2 or 3 days during the week too as needed. Hours are 7am-3:30 pm. Occasionally 6-2:30 pm. Typically this role works 2-3 holidays a year, again on a rotation and not all of them.

Required Education and Experience:

high school diploma or GED

Required competencies:

Ability to lift 50# repeatedly and handle lawn care tools including a mower and trimmer.

Basic computer skills

Preferred Experience:

Animal care experience (especially cattle)
