We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Process Technology Manager for our Polyurethanes Division at our plant located in Ringwood, IL.
Function of the job is to manage the Engineering department. Job holder is responsible for coordination of the site Capital Project program, management of all Capital Projects, and small improvement projects of the process. In addition, job holder will manage the process technology including areas such as: bringing on new technology, executing improvements on inherent process issues, managing new materials made in the plant, managing throughput increases, and documentation.
The job holder is responsible for developing metrics to track and drive performance in all areas of responsibility.
The job holder will ensure that all activities in their department are being carried out according to the relevant EHS rules and that documentation is being kept according to the legal and DIN/ISO 9001 record retention requirements.
What will be expected from you?
The job holder is responsible for managing the Process Technology at the Ringwood site. This means working with Production, Quality, EHS, and Maintenance teams to identify inherent issues with the process in relation to technology and executing improvements on these processes.
Job holder will also be responsible for managing the qualification process for new product introduction, new technology introduction, throughput increases, etc.
Job holder is expected to network with other sites within the business and equipment manufacturers to help solve issues within the plant and advance our capabilities.
They are responsible for establishing and maintaining all legally and company required documentation for all production processes.
The job holder will ensure that energy and utilities are used in a cost effective way and will pro-actively and re-actively propose improvements in this matter.
The jobholder is responsible for coordinating the Capital Program. Based on information from other Ringwood Management Team members and the Business, job holder will prepare short and long term investment plans which will form the basis of the yearly capital program.
Jobholder coordinates, manages and implements these yearly capital programs for introduction of new product, improving manufacturing efficiency, improving EHS performance, and sustenance projects.
Jobholder is responsible for managing all approved capital investment and projects on the Ringwood site and or other TPU sites as deemed required. This includes project scope control, schedules and cost control.
For these projects the job holder will develop and maintain project schedules including milestones for the design, implementation, testing, hand-over and completion stage. The job holder will issue monthly reports with overviews of project status. This shall include approved capital, forecasted final project cost and scheduled completion.
Job holder will prepare Project Proposals (CER) including the preparation of project scope description, detailed cost estimates, financial analysis etc.
Job holder will solicit multiple bids and advise purchasing for the purchasing of capital goods and services.
The job holder will, together with the Plant and EHS Manager develop and maintain a Ringwood Project Management system which should be designed as a Stage Gate system and will require at least Stage Gates at the design, implementation, hand-over and completion stage.
Job holder may be responsible for management of external Project Managers for business critical Capital Projects as recommended by the Site Manager. Job holder is responsible for ensuring this individual adheres to the same standards as others on the team. Job holder is also ultimately responsible for those project deliverables.
Job holder will also execute similar work for smaller improvement projects, below the Capital Project monetary threshold.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
Bachelor's Degree in preferably chemical, plastics, or polymer engineering with at least 8 years of technical experience in the chemical or plastics manufacturing industry.
Five years or more of Project Management required.
Good written and oral communication skills in English, presentation skills for internal and external business meetings are required.
The job holder must be able to manage the organization effectively and within the set budget. Furthermore, they must be able to take a more long term view (2-3 years) in terms of investments and manpower planning and resources.
The jobholder must be able to develop a detailed understanding of the TPU manufacturing processes as well as knowledge of TPU Chemistry and product applications.
The job holder requires flexibility in the light of changing situations, while fully maintaining legal and company standards.
Must be prepared to solve emergency problems 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
The job holder requires good interpersonal management skills to be able to build a team with fellow managers, supervisors, and colleagues / associates.
The job holder must be able to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
