As a Head Teller this individual is responsible to assist the Operations Manager in the operations of the teller line as well as assist in new accounts. This position ensures all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the staff while conveying a feeling of trust, service, security and satisfaction to customers and employees. The Head Teller is responsible for providing a full range of banking services to individual and business customers, with an emphasis on personal and business financial needs and customer service. Additionally, you will assist in ensuring that the branch is in compliance with operating policies and procedures as well as outside regulatory requirements; and assist in supervising teller personnel.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist customers in their selection of various accounts, products and financial services from the bank
Be aware of customer needs and actively look to increase the number of products and services used by current bank customers
Meet with customers and resolve any problems or complaints
Ensure a high level of customer service and ethics
Facilitate with teller buys and sells to the vault
Enforce dual control procedures at all times
Stay current and educated on all deposit, business, and consumer loan products
Provide for proper security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the branch
Ensure the branch and vaults are opened and closed on a timely basis
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensures that the office and all personnel adhere to the same.
Help Operations Manager in overseeing the proper staffing of the branch to ensure proper coverage at all times (lunches, vacations)
Help supervise and perform teller and new accounts operations
Have a drawer and perform teller transactions as needed
Review daily reports and assist with quarterly self-audit procedures
Balancing and reconcilement of the branch, vault, coin machine, ATM, etc.
Facilitate with staff meetings to disseminate operational information and changes, coach and mentor staff to provide excellent customer service skills and compliance to bank policies, etc.
Assist with the implementation of strategies and goals for the branch to ensure branch reaches set goals and is in line with the banks overall strategic plan
Public Notary responsibilities and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School Graduate or (GED)
Must pass a credit & background check
Must be at least 18 years of age
· One year of banking experience
Preferred Qualifications
Two plus years of banking experience
Previous teller job experience
Previous new accounts opening experience
Some college education
Public Notary
Bi-lingual (Spanish)
