Investment Associate - Real Assets at Prudential Ins Co of America in Newark, New Jersey

The Prudential Insurance Company’s Alternative Assets Group is seeking a real estate investment professional to join its growing real assets platform based in Newark, NJ.  The Alternative Assets Group is responsible for managing approximately $10.0 billion in assets, comprised of private equity and hedge funds, as well as real estate and other investments in real assets on behalf of Prudential.

Prudential’s real assets portfolio, with a current net asset value of approximately $2.7 billion, includes investments in real estate funds, tax credit funds, separate accounts, and selective co-investments.  The candidate will be expected to:

• Participate in all aspects of the underwriting and due diligence process for real assets fund investments;


• Perform ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of a portion of the real assets portfolio;


• Work with operations, accounting, tax and legal departments as part of the investment due diligence and execution process;


• Conduct market, industry and strategy research and be informed about current and developing sector trends as well as support related analytical projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of prior investment experience, primarily in direct real estate and/or real estate fund investment


• Strong analytical and modeling skills


• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills


• Solid verbal and written communications skills


• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


• MBA or CFA a plus
