Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Cloud Security Engineer is primarily responsible for ensuring the security of the environment. The Cloud Security Engineer must demonstrate strong team working in an integrated team environment and must be able to work independently. The primary responsibilities include analyzing vulnerability scans, and writing, integrating, and deploying Ansible code to remediate discovered issues. The Cloud Security Engineer must have experience with testing and evaluation of hardware components. Experience implementing and designing hardware is highly desired.



Responsibilities and Deliverables:

Interact with other engineers on the Dev Tools and Automation team, software developers, test engineers, and release managers.

Work with the development, infrastructure, release management and program management teams to define security best practices.

Maintaining functional understanding of security best practices in a fluid multi-cloud environment

Maintaining understanding of technological advances to optimize security posture within the team

Introduce emerging technologies and provide recommendations for solutions and best practices to decision makers.

Analyzes and assesses vulnerabilities in the infrastructure (software, hardware, networks), utilizes industry tools and countermeasures to remedy the detected vulnerabilities.

Create and apply automated security remediations to infrastructure (software, hardware, networks) in a timely fashion



Required Qualifications:

Ability to work with a small team locally, including remote team members.

Ability to work under pressure.

Experience with vulnerability scanning tools

Experience with scripting language such as BASH or Powershell.

Experience with Ansible

Experience with Cloud or virtualization (AWS, VMWare, Hyper-V/Azure).

Experience with Testing and Evaluation of hardware components



Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Microsoft Windows Server

Experience with Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL

Experience with Hardware Implementation and Design



Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related STEM field.

Active Secret Clearance. Candidates must have or be able to obtain and keep a Secret Clearance.

Currently holding or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ within 3 months of hire.
