Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Material Handler for our Wausau, WI facility. The function of the material handler is to process parts through the organization by loading and unloading materials in warehouse and storage facilities. This may involve using material moving equipment such as forklifts and dollies to bring materials to the appropriate location. Parts and materials may be expensive in some cases. You may also receive materials into the organization and verify materials against invoices to ensure the accuracy of the delivery. This is a physically demanding role. The ideal candidate will be able to work long hours standing and doing heavy lifting. Shift hours are from 4:45AM to 3:15PM Monday-Thursday with potential Friday and Saturday overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Learn standard extrusions

  • Learn and performing proper unloading procedures. Materials may be moved from trucks and other transport equipment

  • Receive materials into the organization and verify materials against invoices to ensure the accuracy of the delivery

  • Learn proper storage techniques

  • Learn Oldcastle Building Envelope® quality standards

  • Understand layout of the facility to ensure proper product flow, pulling product for jobs and moving to correct destination

  • Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures, including Critical Safety Rules, are essential functions of your job

Requirements


  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Must be able to read work orders or follows oral instructions to calculate materials to be moved

  • All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production

  • Ability to be certified on all necessary equipment, such as a forklift, within a reasonable amount of time

  • Able to work a flexible starting schedule and/or overtime

  • Prior material handling experience a plus

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to wear required safety equipment, including safety boots with metatarsal guards and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. intermittently, with frequent movement of boxes or crates. May also require frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and crates

  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
