If you are an experienced Machining Scheduler looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Manufacturer of large custom-designed control valves, you will work in a dynamic and high-tech production facility based in our Marshalltown, Iowa location.  AS A MACHINING SCHEDULER YOU WILL: 


  • Review and adjust daily department/resource workload and ensure that the dispatch is current, valid, and in line with the Master Production Schedule.
  • Work with the planner to release available shop orders to machining based on load and time fence parameters.
  • Review the future resource workload to create a strategy to improve on-time delivery of items to customers. This includes moving work, moving operators, overtime, and outsourcing work.
  • Support Production Planners through the recommendation of routing quantities and safety stock to drive the availability of machined components to the customer on-time.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with respective machining supervisors and managers to communicate schedule and resolve capacity and workload management concerns.
  • Support Value Stream planners with accurate re-schedule dates when a shop order date cannot be maintained.
  • Review discrete jobs that have not moved within three production days and develop creative ways to keep work moving.
  • Support Process Engineers in scrap and rework recovery with the expectation of maintaining the original stores date of the production order.
  • Develop visibility working with the purchasing team to drive delivery of material to maintain production schedules.
  • Monitor Manufacturing Engineering routing and quality plan backlog communicate priorities as needed.
  • Develop Lean Manufacturing techniques for Work in Process reduction and increasing throughput.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor outside service production orders working with the outside service buyer to ensure schedule attainment.
  • Participate in MRB discussions and support the dispositions of internal and external non-conforming material.
  • Use of Microsoft Office and Oracle planning tools to help communicate and coordinate the machining schedule.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Associate's degree in Business, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain Management or similar; or High School diploma and 5 years of comparable experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Busness, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain Management or similar.
  • In depth understanding of MRP, Shop Floor Control, Just-in-Time, and Lean strategies and philosophies
  • Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word)
