Full Time Days 40 Hours Per Week. 30 Minute Call Required.
You Will Be Responsible For:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Schedules wound care and hyperbaric appointments in Cerner application.
· Responsible for the accuracy of the department scheduling books in Cerner application.
· Obtain needed patient information for coding and insurance purposes.
· Register new wound care and hyperbaric patients.
· Verifies patient insurance and collaborates to monitor ongoing needs.
· Collect payment from patient for services rendered (i.e. self pay / copay / coins / deductibles).
· Handle incoming phone calls/requests for scheduling in a professional and efficient manner.
· To complete assigned tasks, as requested by the Supervisor and/or Manager in an efficient and professional manner.
· Reschedule wound care and hyperbaric appointments when appropriate.
· Cancels wound care and hyperbaric appointments when appropriate with complete documentation stating why procedure is cancelled.
· Responsible for preparing charts for each clinical day.
· Responsible for daily scanning of patient documents into Cerner.
· Call and confirm prior scheduled appointments.
· Follow-up calls to patients that are no-shows.
· Fax coordination of care to other agencies when required.
· Familiarize and have the knowledge of following the Down Time procedure in the event of failure of Hospital Information System.
· Demonstrates good communication skills with physicians, office staff, co-workers, and other customers.
· Works independently with minimum supervision, demonstrating initiative, accuracy and productivity.
· Assist Office Supervisor with charge entry when required
· Attend department staff meetings routinely.
· To uphold an effective and efficient high-quality, patient scheduling process.
· Complies with regulations under the HIPAA law.
· Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies related to emergencies.
· Complies with JCAHO requirements related to their duties.
· Respects patients' rights and protects confidentiality of all patient related information.
· To establish and maintain a courteous, tactful and professional level of interpersonal skills with patients, guests, medical staff, the public in general.
· To comply and support departmental objectives, as well as the mission of our organization.
· To work effectively with all hospital/department staff to enhance customer service.

QualificationsWhat You Will Need:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Multi-line telephone system, facsimile, copy machine, computer, scanner, calculator, and other standard business office machines.
· Basic typing, math and English skills
· Customer service oriented interpersonal skills
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
· Bi-lingual
· Medical Terminology
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Previous medical office background
· AS degree or higher in related field
