Real Estate Counsel - Full Time at Brandywine Realty Trust in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Brandywine is looking for a commercial real estate attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will draft and negotiate various commercial leases and related documents, and assist in maintaining and growing Brandywine’s real property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have first-hand experience with lease agreements and other landlord documents for commercial office properties. Additional retail and other types of leasing are a plus. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to build positive client relationships with diplomacy and provide insightful and timely counsel. The successful candidate will:

• Draft and negotiate leases, lease amendments, and other lease-related documents.

• Assisting with transaction and other real estate matters, such as acquisitions, dispositions, mortgage financings and construction agreements.

• Provide counsel to leasing agents on lease proposals and commission agreements.

• Advise business teams regarding leasing matters and other real estate issues.

• Draft and negotiate various license agreements, easements, and rights of entry.

• Research legal issues related to real estate and property management.

• Manage real estate disputes, partnering with outside counsel as appropriate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• J.D. with excellent academic credentials and top-tier law firm experience preferred.


• Minimum of three years’ legal experience.


• Excellent drafting and analytical skills, strong oral and written communication skills.


• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, ability to work independently.


• Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful and taking on additional responsibility.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

State Bar Admission in any of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, or Texas.
