The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Systems Technician , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment such as, but not limited to: AC/DC drives and motors, programmable logic controllers, process controllers, stepper & servo motors and controllers, fire protection equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic devices, and plant equipment support.


• Comply with all plant/department safety rules/policies while on 3M property and in the performance of this job.


• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, vendor drawings and manuals in performance of this job. Provide updates to documentation when required. Ability to transcribe ideas to print or sketch.


• Perform maintenance and related functions using the computerized Maintenance Management System, SAMS.


• Work with engineering and production personnel during the troubleshooting, modification, fabrication and repair of plant equipment, utilities and processes.


• Provide technical recommendations regarding improvement and optimization of plant equipment, utilities and processes.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Technical degree in maintenance field OR a  High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of industrial electrical and/or industrial mechanical maintenance experience OR within six (6) months of completing a two (2) year Mechatronics Degree Program


• Ability to work on weekends, overtime, short notice coverage, rotating shifts, and holidays as needed.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Allen Bradley PLC experience


• RS Logix programing experience


• Strong computer skills
