YOUR OPPORTUNITY
As Smucker enters its next phase of transformational growth, this role will drive end-to-end strategic planning and M&A processes to deliver the Company's vision and long-term growth targets. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:
Acting as a key business partner to Executive Leadership and Officer teams, creating the forums and processes to establish the Company's future portfolio vision and the roadmap to ensure overall alignment with business unit (SBA) strategic planning and corporate financial planning processes
Providing thought leadership to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) by proactively identifying, surfacing, and framing potential strategic opportunities
Leading full transaction lifecycle (M&A and divestitures) from strategy formulation, proactive target identification and valuation through integration and post-integration analysis; acting as the "quarterback" for process, overseeing coordination of all internal/external workstream teams and reporting to Executive Leadership Team
Serving as a member of the Company Leadership Team, comprised of top ~75 leaders across the Company
Presenting strategy/M&A updates to the Company's Board of Directors, as appropriate
KEY CAPABILITIES & WAYS OF WORKING
10+ years business experience; CPG industry experience preferred
Strategy consulting experience ideal but not required; investment banking/M&A experience a plus; must possess baseline understanding M&A deal processes
Exposure to/support in financial modeling - long range planning, assumption setting, M&A valuation model development
Appropriate soft skills:
Strategic thinking; able to extract critical details out of complex data, identify trends and develop insights / hypotheses on where and how the Company should evolve in the future
Executive presence; ability to courageously ask the tough questions and challenge the senior-most levels of the organization in a way that fully reflects the Company's values
Credible and trusted; able to earn the trust and confidence of those above and below in the organization
Leadership mindset; focused both on supporting the continued growth of our business and inspiring a continuous improvement mindset for employees and supporting their ability to focus on business-critical issues
