Academic Counseling Prof I at University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma

Job Description:

Serves as academic counselor for students in the Michael F. Price College of Business. Supports the planning and delivery of academic advising/counseling services offered through the Price Academic Advising Services Office, as well as participates in programs and events which promote comprehensive educational opportunities for all students within the college.

Responsibilities:

• Counsels and advises students and prospective students


• Receives, screens and responds to student and parent academic inquiries verbally and in writing


• Provides general information regarding academic issues


• Assists in the maintenance of student records


• Attend staff development and training


• Other duties as assigned

Required Education: Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

• 0-24 months academic advising or student services experience

• Must be able to engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers and communicate including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.

• University experience in an academic administration


• University experience and knowledge of OU systems
