Jr. Cyber Security Engineer

Responsibilities

Sabre Systems, Inc. is seeking a Jr. Cyber Security Engineer to work in Aberdeen, MD, in the premiere communication and technology research and development installation supporting the US Army. The United States Government and commercial enterprises are under constant assault from sophisticated cyber adversaries who seek to access our networks, steal our information, and disrupt the systems and operations.

Sabre is assisting the Army in the development of defensive cyber defense technologies to improve the security of these systems through the development of leading edge software programs, algorithms and techniques based sound scientific and engineering principles and approaches. We assist in the development of techniques to prevent adversaries from performing network reconnaissance, identifying threatening behaviors, developing analytical methods for finding intruders and preventing damage to systems and ex-filtration of information. Projects may be long term research projects or near term quick reaction solutions to immediate threats.

The selected candidate will support C5ISR Center efforts. Duties will focus on supporting the development and evaluation of secure communications applications for tactical deployment within the Department of Defense.

The selected candidate will be assisting in the development and evaluation of novel, dynamic solutions to cyber security threats. Problem areas include developing solutions which hinder adversary capabilities throughout the cyber kill chain to deter, detect and deny access to our networked systems and associated data.

Qualifications

The selected candidate would ideally have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines. The Cyber Engineer must be willing to learn and apply their abilities and skills to assist in countering the cyber threat.

Programming experience with Java is highly desired.

The selected candidate will be interested in a career in cyber security.

The selected candidate must be a US Citizen with an active Department of Defense Secret Clearance. The selected candidate will be required to go through a background check prior to starting.
