The Field Sales Analyst (FSA) contributes to the achievement of customer team objectives by working closely with business teams to analyze all aspects of business plans and provide recommendations to business leaders around DPSM to influence business results with the customer.  The FSA plays a critical role in ongoing business management by communicating results, gaps and action plans via reporting and commentary to customer teams and business leaders. Reporting to Sr. Team Leader, the FSA will interact with Sales team TL, BDM/CBP, Category Analysts, Shopper Marketers, BA, Customer Replenishment Analyst, Customer Forecast Analyst, Customer Service Analyst, Production Planning, Supply Chain teams, Order Settlement.

Key Business Objectives:

  • Deliver Net Sales, Contribution, Category Share, and DPSM Objectives for assigned customer team and BU(s)

  • Adhere to Trade Promotion and dead net pricing guidelines

  • Achieve JBP goals that are mutually agreed upon with assigned customer

Essential Functions:

Plan:  Collaboratively Build the Customer Business Plan

  • Influence BU/Brand strategies by assisting customer business teams in analyzing business and preparing for engagement in strategic planning sessions, innovation summits, AOP, business plan reviews, AOP, etc.

  • Assist customer business team in translating BU/Category priorities into actionable strategies specific to the customer by analyzing business trends and working with cross functional customer team members in building recommendations for future business plans.

  • Collaborate with Customer Development and cross functional resources in Shopper, Category Management (only where allowed), Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, etc. to leverage tools & resources to identify opportunities to improve plans.

  • Assist Business Development Manager (BDM)/Sr. Customer Business Managers (Sr. CBPs) and Sales Leaders in annual operating plan process for assigned customer team(s) to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.

Sell and Negotiate:  Engage Customer in Joint Business Planning to gain alignment to plans

  • Assist BDM/Sr. CBP in development of customer presentations, working as needed with internal stakeholders.

  • Assist BDM/Sr. CBP with customer meetings and negotiations when directed to help K-C and Customer achieve business objectives.

  • Assist BDM/Sr. CBP in developing retail activation plans for in-store execution.

Execute:  Implement the Customer Business Plan

  • Assist BDM/Sr. CBP in creating customer contracts and other account specific needs.

  • Assist BDM/Sr. CBP in addressing service issues and opportunities by working with supply chain and other cross functional team members.

  • Assist BDM/Sr. CBP in work with key customer contacts, shopper marketing and agencies where appropriate to ensure 360⁰ plans are executed flawlessly.

  • Collaborate with BDM/Sr. CBP, K-C Retail Execution Team, and Customer as necessary to ensure flawless execution of plans.

Manage Delivery of Plan and Business Objectives (Check and Adjust):

  • Analyze results vs. objectives and bring recommendations to BDM/Sr. CBP to develop gap closure plans if/when plans are not delivering business objectives.

  • Analyze results and assist in preparation for Business Plan Review (BPR) process for assigned customer team.

  • Assist when needed in regular business reviews with customer to sell in, negotiate and gain alignment on adjustments to plan.

  • Assist customer business team with post event analytics to determine profitability and ROI of trade spending; determine areas for improvement.

General

  • Maintain trusted and respected relationships with customer business team, business leaders, and customers as a trusted partner in analysis and execution of business plans.

  • Effectively communicate (orally and written) to individuals and groups when necessary to gain alignment and resources needed to achieve results.

  • Conduct business and data analyses to build data driven recommendations for improvements and advancements.

  • Show flexibility to adapt and support the organization through times of change.

  • Ability to proficiently use and perform key functions of Microsoft Excel software program and create professional PowerPoint presentations incorporating relevant data, insights and information.

  • Travel domestically up to 10% of the work time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education required: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience: Advanced analytical proficiency with at least 2-5 years of experience in sales data analysis, forecasting or supply chain.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of forecasting, supply and demand processes, shelf reset experience, business planning processes and tools.

  • Experience working in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry and K-C customer/retailer accounts.

  • Track record of developing recommendations that lead to exceeding results.

  • Skills/Competencies: Results, strategy and vision orientation, advanced analytical, data extraction and analysis, trends and insights development, strong oral and written communication, business intuition, relationship builder.

  • Other Skills: Strong customer focus, prioritization and time management, active listening, ability to work independently.
