Position Description:
The Beverage Maintenance Technician reports to the Beverage Focused Improvement Leader. They are responsible for and work with team members to meet set objectives related to safety, quality, reliability, scrap and TPM. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of their equipment, monitoring and evaluating equipment performance and continually working towards centerlining processes, eliminating abnormalities and improving efficiencies. They are focused on maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring work standards exist and proper training occurs, identifying and correcting defects in a timely manner and solving issues to root cause to prevent reoccurrence.
Responsibilities:
Ability to adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy.
Follows and enforces company and local work rules, safety rules, GMP, policies, procedures and work instructions.
Work in harmonious manner with managers, leaders and technicians in all departments on all shifts to achieve the established objectives and build our teams.
Works in a safe and efficient manner at all times, monitors team members for safe practices and mentors best methods.
Maintain positive and safe culture by completing monthly training, safety observations, and near miss observations and confirm direct reports are meeting the standards as well
Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported and assist in follow up analysis.
Ensure timely correction and implementation of permanent and preventative actions for unsafe conditions
Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Performs preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
Lead changeover process for equipment and train production associates how to safely, efficiently and properly change over equipment.
Participate as a Horizontal Equipment Owner within the site TPM program and ensure base condition is maintained, centerlines are established and visible, action plans are up to date, and CILts are accurate and efficient
Attend all team meetings as required.
Participate in the development and implementation of Focused Improvement projects.
Assist with root cause analysis related to quality non conformances and machine breakdowns to eliminate reoccurrence of issues
Identify, prioritize & correct abnormalities during scheduled down times.
Review downtime events and establish Focused Improvement projects to eliminate reoccurrence
Responsible for ensuring Base Condition of equipment is established and maintained
Establish written standards and job aids for training purposes.
Participate in Area Centric Team meetings, Kaizen events, and actively work on Focused Improvement projects
Assists with plant projects, upgrades and improvements.
Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are completed properly, on schedule and recorded in SAP.
Knowledge and ability to perform technical repairs & maintain mechanical equipment such as Blow Molders, Labelers, Conveyor Systems, Palletizers, and other production equipment.
Responsible for educating and training production resources on intermediate and basic maintenance activities.
Knowledge and ability to install and troubleshoot production equipment.
Assists with repairs and training associates when mechanical problems arise in the production area.
Responsible for the completion of all required training and technical criteria with in a defined time period.
Miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
Industrial electrical troubleshooting skills.
Possess technical skills and a willingness to continuously learn through training
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Proficient in computer programs.
Must be available for “on-call” and overtime as necessary.
Self motivated and flexible on job assignments
Possess strong safety focus
Knowledge and experience of TPM principles
Be able to demonstrate SAP knowledge and transaction competence
Lifting Requirements: 25 – 100 lbs.
