GPS Manufacturer/Distributor

We are seeking a full-time C#.net Software Engineer 2 for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area on our Engineering Business Solutions team. This team is responsible for full-stack development of internal tools and web applications that support product R&D, has visibility to all the segments in the company and has a hand in the success of almost every Garmin product that goes out the door. In this role, you will be responsible for developing moderately complex software and creating and executing designs for small sets of new functionalities for Garmin products and/or applications.

Essential Functions


  • Creates and executes designs for small sets of new functionalities as part of a software project using C#, ASP.net, MVC, JQuery and Javascript and SQL

  • Utilizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process

  • Collaborates and adds value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions

  • Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques

  • Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience necessary to develop moderately complex software in C#,  Javascript, JQuery and HTML

  • Proficiency using SQL and relational database design

  • Experience with MS Visual Studio

  • Knowledge and experience with version control

  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)

Desired Qualifications


  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)

  • Experience with Knockout Library

  • Experience with ASP.net and MVC, Bootstrap, Jenkins, and GIT
