Summary of Job Duties:

The Coordinator for Residence Education (CRE) is an integral component to the success of the Residence Education area for University Housing. The Coordinator for Residence Education is responsible for creating a community where academics, diversity, and community involvement are honored. This position facilitates an environment within the residence hall that contributes to the development of students and staff academically, socially, physically, and culturally. Additionally, the CRE provides leadership for the day-to-day management of the hall or complex to create a safe, clean and comfortable environment for students and staff. The CRE articulates to students the philosophy and policies of University Housing, the Division of Student Affairs, and the University while representing and presenting the needs of the students to the administration. The CRE role is one of leadership, trust, and honor, and contributes significantly to the personal growth and development of his/her staff members and hall residents. This position is designated as weather/event essential.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, public administration, management, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education


  • At least two years of experience in program administration or a related area


Applicable equivalencies may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or a directly related field of study from an accredited institution of higher education


  • Graduate and/or full-time experience with community living and leadership development


  • At least three years of experience in program administration or related area


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Knowledge of how to plan and organize events for students


  • Strong oral and written communication skills Strong organizational and administrative skills



Salary Information:

$31,950 - $35,568 (commensurate with education and experience)
