Your Role

Gensler's D.C. Consulting studio captures the best outcomes of change for our clients through a range of services that build more resilient organizations, communities, and people. As a Business Analyst, you will work with clients across industries, providing data-driven insights that drive and support client engagements related to employee or customer experience, sustainability, real estate, market/brand positioning, and other types of projects. We work across Gensler's office and regional boundaries to create the best teams for each engagement and are committed to advancing our core climate change and equitable design priorities on every project.

What You Will Do

• Collect, review and analyze large quantities of data and visualize results as necessary to facilitate synthesis and insight across multiple project types, from user experience to real estate portfolio strategy to resilience and workplace models and beyond.


• Leverage data to tell a story or demonstrate multiple scenario options through compelling data visualizations.


• Work with large and varied data sets, from multiple data sources, in order to conduct basic statistical analysis, generate concise reporting, troubleshoot data integrity issues, and present recommendations to clients for future project deliverables.


• Continually develop personal and work group process efficiencies that support best client outcomes


• Support organizational digital transformation through support of data hygiene and data literacy across projects and the entire practice area.


• Candidate must have experience developing data models using standard diagramming techniques.


• Experience working with development frameworks i.e. Kanban, Scrum etc. a plus.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor'sdegree in business, economics, urban planning, data science, or related fields required, Master's preferred and 2-4+ years of professional experience.


• Design thinking orientation and/or formal experience is valuable


• Strength in working/communicating with data-literate and layperson clients and colleagues


• Advanced experience with Excel advanced functions (i.e. vlookup is not considered advanced for this role).


• Intermediate experience writing Structured Query Language (SQL) .


• Intermediate experience with R or Python programing languages and experience with R/Python environment setup and API programming.


• Intermediate experience with visualizing data with PowerBI.


• Familiarity with ETL tools and processes (Alteryx, SSIS, Informatica, etc.) and survey tools such as Qualtrics.


• You should be very interested in working in a design firm environment; experience in development, construction, real estate, engineering, or architecture/design industries is a strong plus.


• Previous experience in strategy consulting/ advisory delivering real estate market and economic analyses a plus.


• Intermediate GIS experience a plus.


• Travel is currently limited due to pandemic conditions but availability for intermittent travel may be needed in the future.
