Serves as an unarmed, non-commissioned public servant in the areas of Museum security, information dissemination and related security/noncriminal law enforcement.
Duties:
General security/noncriminal law enforcement duties, including making contact with the public and/or students, staff, or faculty of the University to explain regulations and/or enforcement actions taken, or to determine the party’s need for information, service, or assistance
Collecting and issuing keys and access cards
Making building security inspections
Dispatching responses to alarms and disturbances
Operating public safety communications equipment
Responding to disasters and emergencies
Providing care and first aid in emergencies
Communicating and interacting with OUDPS or other emergency service providers
Monitoring deliveries and shipments at loading dock
Assisting with special events and other museum activities
Required Education: GED/High School Grad or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND
0-9 months experience in public safety
Skills:
Basic math skills
Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
Basic computer skills
Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
Uses established safety practices to protect health and safety of personnel and property

Advertised Physical Requirements:
Regular exposure to disagreeable conditions including inclement weather, odors and loud noises; regular standing, bending, lifting above shoulders and carrying at least 25 pounds; may perform shift work; willingness to wear and maintain uniforms, including head covering.
Must be 18 years old.
