Conrad Yelvington Distributors, a CRH company, supplies and distributes aggregate materials such as granite, river gravel, limestone, natural sand, and more. This rail served aggregate distribution network covers Florida, Southern Mississippi, South Carolina, and Alabama.

Position Overview

Supervises all quarry and primary plant operations.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment.


• Directs or coordinates personnel and activities utilizing knowledge of department functions, company policies, regulations, and plant standards and practices


• Reviews and analyzes reports, records, directives, regulations, and confers with other supervisors to obtain data for required planning of activities and solving department problems


• Gives work direction, resolves problems, prepares work schedules, and sets deadlines


• Coordinates with other departments to insure optimal efficiency and economy


• Prepares work areas for upcoming maintenance activities, performs kitting of supplies necessary for maintenance


• Completes required reports and records for management


• Evaluates procedures and practices for alternate methods and improvements

Additional Responsibilities

• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.


• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.


• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.


• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.


• Strict adherence to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.


• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

• Four years or more of quarry related experience and/or training in supervision


• High school diploma or equivalent


• 4 year degree or equivalent experience

.

General Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.     

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Working knowledge of English and Math


• Ability to communicate effectively with and work well with other personnel


• Ability to work overtime and weekends


• Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature


• Make appropriate job decisions following standard policies and past precedents
