Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively seeking a Infrastructure Analyst Lead- Cloud Architecture and Operations that works directly with our IT departments within Arthrex to expand our capabilities around automation, operational efficiency, and general Cloud Operations with a focus on plan, build, and governance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Analyze and recommend solutions, upgrades, and services for streamlining and system improvements.

  2. Support of hardware/software maintenance to include troubleshooting, installation and upgrades, Tier 3 support.

  3. Support multiple locations worldwide (domestic and international travel may be required).

  4. Complete IT operational tasks, project tasks, and end user support duties as assigned.

  5. Lead the architecture and design of infrastructure solutions and methodology.

  6. Lead high-profile, mission-critical IT projects and project teams.

  7. Resolve incidents through effective troubleshooting methodology, Tier 3.

  8. Maintain accurate updated documentation while performing essential job duties.

  9. Liaison with internal business partners, vendors, and external partners and resources.

  10. Assist other analyst with troubleshooting and fulfillment processes.

  11. Ability to train other staff on technical operations.

  12. Provides mentorship to others in the department.

  13. Assist management with strategic IT alignment and project management.

  14. Expected to resolve and take ownership of issues without management involvement.

  15. Subject matter expert on the operation, maintenance, management, and deployment of multiple computer infrastructure hardware/software solutions.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred – one of these must be in a computer science-related field.

  • 8 years of experience in supporting computer infrastructure hardware, applications, and systems required.

  • 2 years experience leading junior staff in completing day-to-day operational tasks and/or enterprise scale projects required.

  • Computer infrastructure-centered certifications required.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:


  • In-depth knowledge and support of Microsoft Windows Server 2012+ and/or Linux in a mid-to-enterprise scale IT organization required.  SUSE Enterprise Linux is a plus.


    • Design/deploy/operational administration

    • Life-cycle management using tools such as WSUS, SCCM, Spacewalk,  or SUMA

    • Security hardening based on established industry standards



  • In-depth knowledge and support of with one or more hypervisor technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and/or AHV required. (Strong preference VMware) 

  • In-depth knowledge and support of Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) with Microsoft Azure.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Infrastructure Systems/Services used to support large ERP implementations (SAP preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with declarative/automated deployment strategies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Governance tools and concepts such as policies, blueprints, and cost management.

  • Understanding the concepts in IT Infrastructure fundamentals (below) is required.  Direct and hands-on experience with each is a plus, but not required

    • Active Directory, DNS  (public and private)

    • LAN - Edge/Core Networking

    • Security systems and solutions, such as anti-virus, SSO, MFA, etc.

    • Enterprise Storage systems (NAS/SAN) such as Netapp or EMC systems

    • Data Protection (backup/restore) and/or disaster recovery solutions

    • Application or Infrastructure monitoring solutions such as Solarwinds, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, SolMan, etc.

    • Network-based security solutions and deployment strategies such as Palo Alto, F5, micro-segmentation, etc.
