Our Role:

As a member of the Performance Team, this position provides analytical information on the performance of institutional accounts and mutual funds to the various internal departments such as the QMA Investment management teams, distribution, marketing, compliance, and senior management. This position will manage a small group (3-5 people) and interface with internal groups/individuals in determining and fulfilling reporting/analytics needs, particularly for equity and multi-asset strategies.  Areas of oversight and production include individual account performance, composites, benchmark performance, portfolio attribution, portfolio characteristics, portfolio statistics, GIPS compliance and ad-hoc requests that support the firm.

Your Impact:


  • Monitor daily investment performance reconciliation process and performance results

  • Understanding of portfolio risk and risk statistics, Risk Decomposition, TE, IR, Standard Deviation, etc.

  • Prepare performance reports to assist in analyzing investment performance results and reporting, including attribution/characteristics analysis.

  • Assist in creating, interpreting and analyzing report results.

  • Hands on support, knowledge and utilization of a variety of investment system applications including performance measurement system (Eagle Pace), investment analytics and other related applications (FactSet, Axioma, Bloomberg, Vermilion), peer analysis applications (Lipper).

  • Perform monthly reporting requirements and manage performance processes.

  • Interaction with Operations team to investigate performance issues.

  • Manage the monthly investment team performance sign off process.

  • Manage the identification and resolving of issues relating to daily/monthly performance measurement and attribution.

Your Required Skills:


  • At least 7 - 10 years of work experience with investment, performance measurement/analysis is strongly preferred. Experience with equity and multi-asset strategies performance/attribution/analytics is desired.

  • Experience managing small teams (3 – 6 people).

  • Strong understanding of all aspects of performance including fund and separate account performance calculations, GIPS standards, attribution analysis, portfolio characteristics and benchmarking calculations such as active share, tracking error, information ratio and index calculations.

  • Knowledge of various performance and attribution systems.  Must be able to understand relevant formulas and calculations.

  • Ability to react decisively and efficiently when presented with new challenges.

  • Strong communication and technical skills required, as well as a demonstrated leading and managing a team on a daily basis.

  • Awareness of performance sign off process and reporting needs.

  • High degree of proficiency in Excel and Factset.  Eagle Pace knowledge a plus.

  • Ability to handle time pressures, demonstrate initiative and apply creative thinking to problems.

  • Experience with GIPS Standards, composite construction and audit.
