Job Description The Compass Preschool Teacher will be responsible for teaching and leading the Compass Preschool classroom for 4 year old children. The schedule for the role will be Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Education or 2 years' experience in a preschool classroom.
AZ Teaching Certificate in early childhood preferred.
Personal qualities: passionate, relentless work ethic, humble, positive in the face of challenges and loving.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience integrating the Christian faith and character development in all aspects of a child's educational experience.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and developing young children.
Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to young children, teachers and parents.
Knowledge of current technology for personal and classroom use, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other software as determined by the Compass Program Director.
Strong organizational and management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
Embody and demonstrate a loving, positive character and ensure that students exhibit the same values.
Supervise all aspects of student and staff activity during the preschool day.
Set measurable, ambitious and attainable goals as part of a comprehensive curriculum. This includes creating lesson plans for the year, for individual units, and per week.
Monitor student's progress and development and constantly communicate with parents regarding their child.
Build rapport with students, parents and families so they understand unambiguously that teachers love them.
Continually improve teaching skills for self and staff by seeking out constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
Assure compliance with all city, county and state fire, safety and licensing regulations.
Maintain organization system for all learning materials related to Compass preschool.
Promote a strong bond between the Compass preschool and Eagle College Prep in collaboration with national and local Eagle leadership.
