Position Description:
Micro-Poise Measurement Systems, a business unit of AMETEK, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Streetsboro, Ohio facility. Micro-Poise is the leading provider of test and measurement solutions for tire manufacturing and automotive industries.
The following is a description of job duties:

•Promote excellence in new product development with regards to quality, efficiency, and manufacturability

•Design mechanical systems using analysis and computer-aided design, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials

•Execute projects within the established time frame meeting budget while delivering quality solutions

•Develop and test prototypes that are designed

•Oversee the manufacturing process for the device

•Responsible for project planning, execution, risk management, risk mitigation, issues identification and resolution, task breakdown, scheduling and resource allocation

•Responsible for coordinating the development of accurate work estimates for new projects including assumptions and risks

•Collaborate with Product Management, Sales and engineers throughout the organization to effectively identify and resolve technical issues and take ownership for driving these issues to closure

•Collaborate in the identification and implementation of quality metrics

•Create and/or update bills of materials

•Create and/or update AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings/models

•Develop and support programming and troubleshooting of 6-axis Fanuc robots. Knowledge of Roboguide software.

•Assist in development and implementation of training programs for technicians and end users

Position Requirements:
•BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience

•Proven working experience in mechanical engineering

•Working experience in FEA

•Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering software

•Experience with 2D and 3D tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)

•Creativity and analytical skills

•Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner

•Technical writing skills

•Experience in the tire and automotive industry a plus

•Ability to handle multiple assignments is necessary

•Some travel, international and domestic to customer sites may be required up to 15%
