We’re looking for a Strategic Supply Chain Manager 1 at our world headquarters in Olathe, KS to manage Supply Chain Management activities which deliver targeted products into mass production ensuring Garmin has achieved the best possible material schedule, cost and assurance of supply.
Essential Functions:
Applies Supply Chain Management skills within small to mid-size projects or sub-projects, seeking input from mentor and/or supervisor as needed
Manages simultaneous supply chain activities which strengthen new product introduction process
Maximizes buying power by leveraging overall company volume, negotiating pricing agreements, lead time & terms, and creating strategic supplier partnerships. Keeps abreast of industry developments impacting materials, supply, services, and other relevant market developments to advise and update project team
Ensures team members/stakeholders are appropriately informed including awareness of project scope, milestones, main points of contact, repositories, and tools specific to the assigned tasks/project(s)
Creates and maintains basic timelines and milestone tracking and open action/issues lists
Drives assigned project elements to closure and uses good judgment in determining when to escalate issues above mentor or direct supervisor
Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s degree in a related Engineering field OR Master’s degree in Operations AND demonstrated experience in strategic supply chain management or related supply chain experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field AND a minimum of two years strategic supply chain management or related supply chain experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Operations related field AND a minimum of four years strategic supply chain management or related supply chain experience.
Required Skills:
Must demonstrate previous new product introduction (NPI) experience in a vertically integrated consumer electronics environment
Demonstrate experience and knowledge working with working with ERP (enterprise requirements planning) and MRP (materials requirements planning) in an electronics manufacturing environment
Demonstrate knowledge of the supply and material planning organization process
Demonstrate a complete understanding of supply/demand and clear to bid analytics
Must possess previous experience with a history of successful supplier relationship management and the understanding of their manufacturing processes
Must possess previous experience to deliver improvements in the areas of material schedule AND cost
Must demonstrate a complete understanding of supply/demand and clear to bid analytics
