Job Description:
Accountant I (entry level)
The Accountant I position is an integral member of the Finance group located in the Channahon, IL headquarters. The position has a key role in general ledger maintenance, the monthly accounting close process and sales and use tax filing, as well as assisting in internal and external audit work and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for both the headquarters and remote sites.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
- Perform the monthly close process and reconciliation of account balance
- Timely and accurate preparation and routing of all financial reports to local management and corporate headquarters
- Responsible for accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax returns
- Assist management with SOX compliance
- Timely and accurate completion of various government reports
- Monitor capital equipment spending
- Perform other assignments as directed by your manager
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1-2 years of experience in general accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment (will consider new graduates with high GPA)
